Selected with the 20th overall pick by the Minnesota Twins in the 2002 MLB Draft, Denard Span always seems to be in the middle of the action. Debuting in 2008, his speed, consistent hitting and defensive prowess have put him among the most dynamic players in the Major Leagues. Span has the unique distinctions of having recorded the first regular and post season hits at the new Yankee Stadium in 2009 as well as breaking in Minnesota's Target Field with its first triple and home run in 2010. As a member of the San Francisco Giants, Span became only the second Giants player to hit a leadoff splash hit home run into McCovey Cove. Span has played for the Twins, Giants, Washington Nationals, Tampa Bay Rays and the Seattle Mariners.
