A submarine-style reliever, Darren O'Day has come to establish himself as reliable force out of the bullpen. After going undrafted following his time at the University of Florida, he signed as a free agent in 2006 with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and made his big league debut two years later. As a member of the Baltimore Orioles, O'Day kept his ERA below 2.28 for each season between 2012 and 2015. . In 2016, he struck out 59 batters and held opponents to a .210 batting average over 62 innings. In 2014, O'Day had his best year by posting a 1.70 ERA and a 0.89 WHIP while striking out 73 batters and holding hitters to a .174 batting average, He was named to the All-Star team that year. Over his decade long career, he has also spent time with the New York Mets and Texas Rangers.
