The Players Association Welcomes Roger Kahlon as International Strategic Advisor

NEW YORK, June 23 – The Major League Baseball Players Association (MLBPA) has announced the
addion of Roger Kahlon to its Player Services Department as International Strategic Advisor for
Japanese affairs. In this newly created position, Kahlon will provide culturally accurate guidance and
direction across the organization, focusing specifically on engaging the union’s Japanese Players.
With over two decades of experience in baseball, cross-cultural strategy, and athlete management,
Kahlon has navigated high-stakes negotiations, led global communications, and facilitated the
development of strategic partnerships. He earned the trust of MLB Players, executives, and media on
both sides of the Pacific as a longtime personal liaison to former Japanese MLB player and 2009 World
Series MVP Hideki Matsui.
“Roger has been committed to protecting and advancing the interests of Players throughout his career,”
said MLBPA Executive Director Tony Clark. “He brings a wealth of knowledge, operational and business
acumen as well as cultural fluency that will help strengthen the union’s relationship with our Japanese
members and advance our broader global mission. I’m looking forward to his integration into our efforts
to support Players and am excited to bring his expertise to our work.”
In his new role, Kahlon will support Player engagement, domestic and international play events.
