Social Media Verification Policy

The following are the levels of play that the MLBPA will submit to the platforms to request verification:

  •  Active/40-man roster

  • Top 100 Prospects in the current year

  • Top 30 Prospects by team within the current year

  • 1st round draft picks in the current year

  • Arizona Fall League players in the current year

Please note the MLBPA has no way to

pre-determine whether a player will be verified or not, as we do not have any control over the internal decisions of the social media platforms.

Submit by following our official e-mail process to:



In the body of the e-mail submission, please include ALL of the following information:

  • Player Full Name

  • Team

  • Twitter and/or Instagram handle

  • Email associated with the account (s)

  • Two website links identifying player: (roster page, baseball reference...)

  • Reason for verification: (e.g. Marcus Stroman should be verified because he is on the active roster for the New York Mets)

  • For Instagram submissions, attach a copy of a Photo ID of the player being submitted 

  • Please also include and initial the following statement –– I certify that I am an authorized representative of the above-listed player; that all of the information provided above is true and accurate; and I am authorized
    by the player to submit this verification submission form on his behalf.

Before submitting for verification, please review the player’s social media accounts to verify that the profile requirements are all met.

Failure to do so may lead to your request being denied by the social media platforms.
