2025 SOCIAL MEDIA VERIFICATION POLICY

Please note the MLBPA has no way to predetermine whether a player will be verified or not, as we do not have any control over the internal decisions of the social media platforms.
Before submitting for verification, please review the player’s social media accounts to confirm that the profile requirements are all met.
Failure to do so may lead to your request being denied by the social media platforms.
Resubmissions are allowed after 30 days but you are required to include updated information for the platform to reassess your application.

• At least one post
• Follow is enabled (profiles only)
• Account published

• Real first & last name on account

• 1-2 sentence bio
• Profile must be set to public
• Active user (must have recent posts)

TWITTER / X
Starting April 1, 2023, Twitter rolled back its “legacy verified program” meaning the platform has systematically removed verified checkmarks for all public figures unless they are subscribed to X Premium.
CAN PLAYERS STILL SUBMIT FOR VERIFICATION?
The ability to submit for free no longer exists.
All Players however can pay X directly for verification. Only accounts actively subscribed to X Premium are eligible to receive the blue checkmark.
