About

Jake Cronenworth, a Michigan native and former University of Michigan Wolverine, signed his first professional contract with the Tampa Bay Rays before being traded to San Diego in 2019. He had an instant impact with the Padres, posting an .831 OPS with a 1.6 WAR during the Covid-shortened 2020 season and winning NL Outstanding Rookie in Players Choice Awards voting. He followed up with All-Star appearances in 2021 and 2022.
