Statement on Today’s Bargaining Session

Today, MLB made another set of proposals that are flat out bad for baseball, ones that would cripple the
next generation of players and damage the future of our game.

MLB Players, Inc., the business arm of the Major League Baseball Players Association, has partnered with Athletes First, the premier sports representation and marketing agency, to develop and execute a strategic content initiative that will allow MLB Players to better connect with baseball fans.

The Players Trust, the charitable arm of the Major League Baseball Players Association, today released its 2025 Annual Report, highlighting a year of player engagement and more than $1 million invested in programs and causes important to Major and Minor League Players.

Today, MLB Players, Inc. announced the launch of “MLB Players Studio,” a new content platform designed to serve as the umbrella for original programming, talent, and brand partnerships across MLB Players, Inc.’s growing business initiatives.

The Players Trust, the charitable arm of the Major League Baseball Players Association, announced today that Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Paul Skenes is the recipient of the third Most Valuable Philanthropist award for the 2026 season. The Players Trust will award a $10,000 grant in Skenes' honor to the Gary Sinise Foundation.

Yesterday, the MLBPA presented a comprehensive package of proposals designed to improve compensation for players at all levels, and to incentivize and reward competition on the field.

The Major League Baseball Players Association (MLBPA) today made an initial series of core economic proposals to open collective bargaining negotiations with Major League Baseball. The current Collective Bargaining Agreement expires in December.

The Major League Baseball Players Association (MLBPA) today announced that veteran attorney Jeff Perconte has been promoted to the role of General Counsel, a position previously held by Matt Nussbaum, who was appointed interim deputy executive director last month.

The Executive Board of the Major League Baseball Players Association today voted unanimously to appoint Bruce Meyer as Interim Executive Director and Matt Nussbaum as Interim Deputy Executive Director.

The Major League Baseball Players Association (MLBPA) announced today Tony Clark has resigned as executive director. Clark joined the MLBPA staff as director of player relations in 2010 and succeeded Michael Weiner as executive director in 2013.
