NEW YORK, Nov. 9, 2020 – Major League Baseball Players, Inc. today introduced its new official brand. The updated brand draws a distinction between the MLBPA and MLBPI, a subsidiary of the union charged with managing all commercial activities of the organization.
Modernizing the brand with a bolder, broader look also affirms MLBPI’s commitment to making the marketing of Players the focus of its mission and purpose.
“This rebrand is much more than just a logo, fonts and colors,” said Evan Kaplan, Managing Director of MLB Players, Inc. “It symbolizes the links between the rich history of ‘America’s Pastime’ to the best baseball players in the world. MLB Players, Inc. represents all the attributes that distinguish our great game – unrivaled diversity, exceptionally skilled athletes and the next generation of dynamic superstars.” At the core of MLBPI’s business today, it brings to market products and services featuring the group publicity rights of Players. Currently, these rights are granted to over 100 business partners worldwide.
Partners and licensees will begin to implement the brand over the next few months, and we expect all rebranding to be complete by Opening Day 2021.
