New Deal Between MLB Players, Inc. and Major League Alumni Marketing Bridges Gap Between Current and

NEW YORK, May 24, 2022 MLB Players, Inc., the business arm of the Major League Baseball Players Association, today announced it has reached an exclusive, multi-year licensing agreement with Major League Alumni Marketing (MLAM), the for-profit subsidiary of the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association (MLBPAA), charged with developing business opportunities for retired MLB Players.

The agreement gives MLB Players, Inc. the exclusive right to collectively market, promote and license the names, images and likenesses of former MLB Players to potential new partners.

“Our goal has always been to identify the best business opportunities for current Players,” said Evan Kaplan, Managing Director of MLB Players, Inc. “This agreement will allow us to continue this type of collaboration once a Player leaves the baseball field. I’m excited to work alongside Major League Alumni Marketing to continue advocating for current and former Players.”

MLAM will work with MLB Players, Inc. to market former MLB Player group rights – with a primary focus on developing digital gaming opportunities, as well as initiatives across the apparel and hard goods consumer products landscapes.

“We are extremely excited to work with MLB Players, Inc. to provide our members with the opportunities to increase their sponsorship and endorsement opportunities,” said Dan Foster, MLBPAA chief executive officer. “Joining forces through Major League Alumni Marketing is a win for our members and a milestone for the organization.”

Major League Alumni Marketing has access to nearly 6,000 former MLB Players, including Jeff Bagwell, Will Clark, Andre Dawson, Goose Gossage, Torii Hunter, Edgar Martinez and Brooks Robinson, to name a few.

Members of the MLB Players, Inc. and MLAM team will be at the Licensing Expo occurring this week in Las Vegas. Any business inquiries can be directed to Evan Kaplan, Managing Director or Zvee Geffen, Director of Licensing for MLB Players, Inc.
