Florencio Serrano, a product of Corpus Cristi, Texas, went 12-1 with a 1.18 ERA as a freshman standout for Robstown High School before moving to Mexico, where his parents were born, and pitching for the Toros de Tijuana of the Liga Mexicana de Beisbol. He is one of five siblings from a family with a strong baseball foundation. After his first professional contract with the Chicago Cubs was voided in 2017, Serrano agreed to a deal with the Texas Rangers organization in 2019. Over parts of six Minor League seasons, primarily has a reliever, Serrano has posted a 14-10 record with a 4.74 ERA. He is a significant voice in MLBPA leadership as one of two Minor League Alternate Association Player Reps.
