About
Matt Chapman, a Cal State-Fullerton product, signed his first professional contract with the Oakland Athletics as the 25th overall pick in the 2014 draft. Over nine big league seasons with the A’s, Blue Jays and Giants, Chapman has been a reliable, steady force in the middle of the lineup and a stalwart presence in the union. The California native was Oakland’s Player Representative in 2021 and a signatory to baseball’s CBA the following year.
