About

Tarik Skubal built upon his record of achievement as one of the elite pitchers of his era in 2025. He was named the American League's Outstanding Pitcher in the Players Choice Awards for the second straight year, while becoming only the 12th pitcher in history to win back-to-back Cy Young Awards (and the first to achieve the feat since the New York Mets' Jacob deGrom in 2018-19). During the 2024-25 seasons, Skubal logged a cumulative 31-10 record and captured consecutive ERA titles with the Tigers. His cumulative 12.9 Baseball-reference.com WAR led all American League pitchers over that span. He joined the MLBPA Executive Subcommittee as an Alternate Pension Representative in 2024.
