About

Matthew Boyd made his MLB debut with Toronto in 2015 and has since logged time as a starting pitcher with four other franchises. Best known for his eight-year stint with the Detroit Tigers, Boyd excelled in 2025 and made his first ever All-Star game as a member of the Chicago Cubs’ rotation at age 34. The Washington native has been a positive force for Player rights throughout his career. Amid the 2022 CBA negotiations, Boyd publicly shared a positive message on the importance of Players holding firm as a group. “The players stand very united,’’ he said. “We, as a union, stand very united.”
